In the first leg of the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round, “Sabah” lost to “Levski” by the narrowest margin, but the Azerbaijani club’s head coach Valdas Dambrauskas has not lost hope. Speaking at the post-match press conference, he said:
“The game was very difficult, and we knew it would be like that beforehand. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal in the last seconds of the match. ‘Levski’ is a very good team. Overall, it was an even game. In the second half, we had chances to go forward. I believe we will win in the return leg.”
“Levski” head coach Xulio Velázquez, on the other hand, expressed his satisfaction with his players:
“I am proud of them. I can say our players did a very good job. I would like to thank the fans who supported us from the first minute to the last. I am proud to be the head coach of ‘Levski.’ To get a good result, you must be in good shape and play well. My players must remain humble, because we have a tough match ahead of us in Azerbaijan. If we consider ourselves the favorites of the tie, the result may not turn out well for us.”
