For the first time in their history, Araz-Nakhchivan played in European competitions and achieved a historic result by advancing to the next round of the UEFA Conference League. After winning the first leg 2–1, the team from Nakhchivan drew 2–2 in the return match against Greece’s Aris, marking another milestone.
Araz took a 2–0 lead in the first half thanks to goals from Charles Boli and Felipe Santos. However, early in the second half, the team was reduced to ten men after Igor Ribeiro was sent off. Felipe Santos’ assist for the opening goal was especially praiseworthy, as he delivered a precise pass to Boli through several defenders.
Despite conceding two goals in the final minutes, Elmar Bakhshiyev’s team showed determination and secured the desired result. In the next round, Araz-Nakhchivan will face Omonia from Cyprus.
