The potential play-off opponents of “Karabakh”, who will face North Macedonia’s “Shkëndija” in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, have been revealed. The draw has paired “Qarabağ” with the winner of the “Ludogorets” (Bulgaria) vs “Ferencváros” (Hungary) match-up. The winner of that tie could face the team from Aghdam on August 19–20 and 26–27.

Interestingly, “Karabakh” has recently faced both teams. In 2022, Gurban Gurbanov’s side eliminated the Hungarian team in the third qualifying round of the Champions League. The clash with “Ludogorets” also took place in the same stage of the same tournament in 2024 and ended in favor of “Karabakh”. Therefore, if they overcome “Shkëndija”, “Karabakh” will have a strong chance of advancing to the group stage.
